What is the Centre for Community Initiative and what did they need?

Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) is a nonprofit dedicated to building a more inclusive society- one where healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities are accessible to all, especially persons with disabilities. Their work spans disability inclusion, sustainable development, disaster relief, and community-led advocacy.

While their impact on the ground was significant, their story wasn’t reaching enough people. Social media felt unfamiliar, inconsistent, and overwhelming. Platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn were underutilized, and there was no structured way to share updates or connect with allies.

They needed a clear, doable strategy to make digital communication work for them, not against them.

Mission: To build and strengthen society for healthcare, education, and socio-economic development through community initiatives and participation.

Fun Fact: CCI started from a personal journey- a parents' group searching for support for children with special needs- and has since impacted over 10,000 individuals through disability and development programs.

Why did this project matter?

For nonprofits like CCI, social media is more than promotion- it’s visibility, advocacy, and access. It’s how they share unheard stories, bring attention to overlooked issues, and attract the partnerships and support they need.

But managing it without direction can be draining and ineffective.

This project aimed to:

  • Create a structured, strategic content plan to guide outreach

  • Equip the internal team to confidently manage platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter

  • Ensure their mission and impact could reach the audiences that matter

Auditing their current presence: Reviewed CCI’s existing platforms to identify gaps, opportunities, and low-hanging fruit.

Training the team: Conducted a hands-on session so the internal team could confidently manage and execute the strategy going forward.
